Many of us try to fix our lives by working harder, thinking more, or searching for the perfect solution outside of ourselves.
But what if the real healing starts somewhere deeper?
In this episode of Your Radiant Spirit, I sit down with Amy B. Scher, bestselling author and energy healer, to talk about the powerful connection between emotional health, fear, and physical wellness.
Amy’s story is both inspiring and deeply relatable. After struggling for years with chronic Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue, she found herself at a breaking point. Traditional medical treatments helped somewhat, but they didn’t fully resolve the deeper issues she was experiencing.
What she discovered next changed everything.

When the Body Starts Speaking
Amy spent more than a decade searching for answers to her chronic illness.
She saw specialists, tried experimental treatments, and even traveled internationally for medical procedures. Yet despite all the effort, she still found herself asking the same question many people ask when their health struggles continue:
Why isn’t anything working?
Eventually, Amy realized something important.
If she had already tried every external solution, perhaps the missing piece wasn’t outside of her at all.
It was inside.
That realization led her into the world of emotional healing, energy work, and the mind-body connection.
As Amy explains in the episode, when the body keeps signaling distress, it’s often trying to get our attention.
And sometimes, the message is deeper than we expect.
The Stress That Makes Us Sick
One of the most eye-opening parts of our conversation centers around stress.
We often think stress comes from daily responsibilities:
- Busy schedules
- Family demands
- Work deadlines
- Financial pressures
But Amy explains that the kind of stress that affects our physical health often comes from something deeper.
It’s the stress of living out of alignment with who we truly are.
This might look like:
- Staying in relationships that no longer serve us
- Ignoring our intuition
- Suppressing emotions we don’t want to face
- Living according to others’ expectations rather than our own truth
When we constantly push our true selves aside, our bodies eventually start responding.
Fatigue, illness, chronic pain, and anxiety can all be signals that something within us needs attention.
The Role of Fear in Healing
Amy often calls fear “the real F-word.”
And it shows up everywhere in our lives.
Fear of:
- Being seen
- Speaking our truth
- Changing careers
- Leaving unhealthy relationships
- Following our intuition
According to Amy, one of the deepest fears many people carry is the fear of fully being themselves.
When we hold ourselves back, dim our light, or constantly people-please, we create internal tension.
That tension doesn’t just stay in the mind.
It moves through the body.
And over time, it can affect our health, our emotions, and our sense of well-being.
The work then becomes learning how to move forward even while fear is present.
Not eliminating fear completely, but refusing to let it control our lives.
The Healing Process: Identify, Release, and Move Forward
Amy teaches a simple but powerful framework for emotional healing:
Identify → Release → Move On
The first step is honest self-reflection.
One question Amy encourages people to ask themselves is:
“What have I been lying to myself about?”
That question can reveal more truth than we expect.
Maybe we know a relationship isn’t healthy.
Maybe we know we’re avoiding something important.
Maybe we know we’ve outgrown a path we’re still trying to stay on.
Once we identify the truth, the next step is releasing the emotional weight around it.
Amy teaches techniques like energy tapping and emotional clearing practices that help people process fear, stress, and old emotional patterns.
But the final step is just as important.
Taking action.
Healing doesn’t happen just by thinking differently.
It happens when inner awareness leads to real change in our lives.
Why Community Matters in the Healing Journey
Another theme we explored in this episode is the importance of community.
Healing can feel incredibly isolating.
Many people experiencing chronic illness, emotional struggles, or major life transitions feel like they’re going through it alone.
Amy created the Fearless Living Collective to change that.
It’s a space where people come together to support one another in facing fear, making meaningful changes, and living more aligned lives.
When people commit to healing together, something powerful happens.
The collective energy of the group becomes part of the transformation.
Listening to the Wisdom of the Body
One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation is simple, but profound:
Your body is always communicating with you.
Sometimes it whispers.
Sometimes it nudges.
And sometimes it shouts.
Pain, fatigue, anxiety, and illness can all be invitations to pause and ask:
- What is my body trying to tell me?
- Where might I be out of alignment?
- What truth am I avoiding?
Healing isn’t always about fixing something that’s broken.
Sometimes it’s about returning to the person you were meant to be.
